Sonamarg receives season’s first snowfall

Srinagar: Sonamarg and its adjoining areas in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district receive season’s first snow fall amid cold grips Valley.

The snowfall started at around 4am and it around 3 inches were recorded when last reports come.

The snow depth recorded in the nearby Thajiwas glacier, zojila areas of Sonamarg was around 4 inches.

“A Western Disturbance is approaching that will subsequently results in rains in plains and snow at hills, a MeT official said.

With the fall in day temperature, people across the valley have started putting on warm clothes.
