Srinagar: The talks aimed at greater autonomy or within the constitution of India were just wastage of time, United Jehad Council, an amalgam of various militant organizations, said on Sunday.
“Kashmiris are not against the talks but when India talks about talks, the country wants to create atmosphere for massacre and genocide of people,” Secretary General of UJC and Ameer (chief) of Tehreek-ul-Mujahideen said in an emailed statement.
“It is deceitful politics by rulers of New Delhi that on one side they talk of dialogue and on the other hand, they don’t allow peaceful protests by people of Jammu and Kashmir and that is why new ordinance has been issued,” he said. The government recently issued an ordinance which calls for punishment to those calling for protests and shutdown.
“If government of India is not ready in resolving Kashmir issue through United Nations resolutions, how can one trust in dialogue by New Delhi,” the UJC said.
“We see any dialogue which is aimed at greater autonomy or within the constitution of India is a futile process,” the UJC said, reiterating that India was not interested in real dialogue but “wants to continue massacre of people of Jammu and Kashmir and continue to mislead international community.
