Srinagar: Joint Resistance Leadership on Sunday appealed people to “remain ready” for protest against any possible change in state subject laws in Jammu and Kashmir.
“Any plan aimed at demographic change to affect disputed optical nature of Jammu and Kashmir is unacceptable to us,” said the JRL comprising Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Mohammad Yasin Malik.
In a statement issued here, the leadership that if any decision was taken by Supreme Court of India which was against the wishes and aspiration of people of Jammu and Kashmir, “peoples’ agitation would be started instantaneously.”
 The top court of India is hearing on Monday “for final disposal” a plea filed by an RSS-backed NGO—we the citizens, which calls for scrapping Article 35A of the Indian constitution, which gives protection to the exclusive rights to the people of Jammu and Kashmir on immovable property, jobs etc in the state.
“We want to clarify that any such conspiracy would be faced head-on and such a situation is aimed at creating Palestine like situation,” they said.
