A police spokesman quoted elders who he said told cops “on the condition of anonymity” that “no braid chopping incident took place.”
“One alleged braid chopping incident at Bohrikadal has been doing rounds since the morning which turned out to be a prank played by some miscreants to create the law & order problem,” the police spokesman said.

“Police dispersed the mob and tried to ascertain the facts regarding the incident. Few elders of the locality on conditions of anonymity revealed to police that no braid chopping took place and the incident seems to be a part of the conspiracy hatched by some miscreants to breach the of law and order.”
