Srinagar: At least 383 policemen from different states as well as personnel from central paramilitary forces and central police organisations were killed this year, the government revealed on Saturday.
The details were divulged by an official spokesman on police commemoration day parade which was held at the National Police Memorial, New Delhi. Indian Home Minister Rajnath Singh and the MoS in the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Ministry of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation, Dr. Satya Pal Singh were present on the occasion. The DIB Rajiv Jain read out the names of all Police Personnel who were killed in the line of duty this year.
The Home Secretary, Rajiv Gauba as well as heads of all the Central Paramilitary Forces and the Commissioner of Delhi Police also attended the Occasion. Police Commemoration Day is observed every year on October 21 to commemorate the Police personnel who were killed in Hot Springs, Ladakh in 1959.
