Srinagar: Joint Resistance Leadership has called for protests across Kashmir on Friday after prayers against braid chopping incidents in the valley. They also  appealed people  to form mohalla committees in every area to foil braid chopping.
Abdul Rashid Sheikh of Jammu and kashmir Liberation Front told media that JRL appeals people to protest after friday prayers tomorrow.
“Protests should be held across the kashmir region and people should form mohalla committee to nab the criminals.
We urge senior citizens to be part of these committees,” Sheikh said.
Hurriyat activists  were protesting at Abi Guzar.
According to J&K Police there have been over hundred incidents of braid chopping from various parts in the valley in the past two months. However the police has failed to get a breakthrough in these incidents so far.
J&K Police has formed Special Investigation Teams to probe the incidents. They have also announced a reward of six lakh rupees for credible information leading to the arrest of any person. behind braid chopping incidents. Police has so far remained clueless and no arrests have been made till date.
The growing incidents have forced people to form groups in their localities which keep an eye on suspicious movements in their localities.
At several places vigilante groups have been formed by people to nab the perpetrators.
