Srinagar: Joint Resistance Leadership on Tuesday said that New Delhi has tasked the National Investigation Agency (NIA) to defame entire Kashmir nation.
In a statement, they also condemned extension in judicial remand by Delhi court of Hurriyat leaders, arrested by NIA in connection with a case registered at government of India’s behest, saying that they cannot break will power of the pro-freedom leaders by such “fabricated cases”.
“The government of India has tasked the NIA to defame entire Kashmir nation and this is amply clear by summoning to New Delhi of pro-freedom leaders, lawyers, doctors, traders, scholars, college students, professors and journalists,” said the JRL comprising Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Mohammad Yasin Malik in a statement issued here.
They termed it as an attempt on part of the government to suppress Kashmir issue. The JRL also “advised” the policy makers of India that instead of using NIA as weapon, the country should accept ground realities and respect the will of people of Kashmir. “Such a step would not only end political uncertainty in Jammu and Kashmir but would be a positive step for people of India.”
They also expressed concern over the deteriorating condition in jail of chairman Democratic Freedom Party Shabir Ahmad Shah and ill-treatment meted to him.
