Srinagar: Hurriyat Conference led by Syed Ali Geelani on Sunday said Indian home Minister admitted that Kashmir never integrated with India and that it testifies the amalgam’s claim.
Referring to his statement, a spokesman said that, the home minister admits that Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru stopped Sardar Patel from merging Kashmir with Indian union.
“This testifies our claim that Kashmir is not a part of India. However India took the case to the UN and pledged that the people of J&K would be given the right to self-determination to decide their political destiny.”
The resolution was accepted by both India and Pakistan and the world community was witness to it “but New Delhi while claiming it as their integral part, are continuously denying their commitment.”
“Now, while the Indian home minister, Rajnath Singh, accepted that Kashmir has not been integrated into India, hence they should admit it as a forcible occupation,” said spokesman, adding, “Tell your people that Kashmir has never annexed with Indian union.
Laying stress on right to self-determination for people of state, the spokesman said that Kashmir issue was the root cause of prevailing uncertainty in South Asia, hence New Delhi need to oblige its commitment which they have pledged in international forums.
The Hurriyat Conference also paid rich tributes to Waseem Ahmed Shah, Nasir Ahmad Mir and Gulzar Ahmed Mir, who were killed in Leter Pulwama by government forces. “Nation can never forget their sacrifices.”
