SRINAGAR: If dial 108 Emergency Ambulance Service scheme is launched in Jammu and Kashmir, number of lives will be saved in road accidents, heart attacks and other accidents, Director General of Police, S.P Vaid said on Saturday.
Vaid was speaking on the inaugural function of the two day live demonstration on ENT surgeries programme titled “Rhinoplasty and FESS” at Police Hospital Sringar.
“Centrally sponsored scheme dial 108 Emergency Ambulance Service have been started in whole of the country and at places the service has proved very beneficial. He said that if this scheme is launched in our state also we will be able to save a number of lives in road accidents, heart attacks and other accidents,” Vaid said.
Vaid also said that: “Because of the nature of the duties and in normal course police men and officers do also face health issues. Keeping this in view we are making all efforts to provide better health care facilities to our men and women.”
Director Health Services, Kashmir Dr. Saleem-U-Rehman said that emergency care has become very necessary and their is need to evolve mechanisms to save lives in road accidents. “ So that in emergency cases where very less time is available for survival of patients are saved,” Rehman told audience.
Dr. Sanjeev Sachdeva, Director ENT MAX Hospital and Dr. Varinder Gatsas conducted the live surgeries which were demonstrated live to the audience of doctors and paramedics.
