Srinagar: Unknown gunmen on Friday shot dead a former militant in Tral area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
A police official said that gunmen fired upon former militant Rafiq Ahmad Bhat alias Dada son of Ghulam Mohi-ud-din near Abghar in the town after Friday prayers.
Bhat sustained serious injuries and was immediately shifted to nearby hospital where from he was referred to Srinagar for specialized treatment. However, he died on way to the hospital as doctors, who attended upon Bhat at SMHS, declared him brought dead, the officail added. .
