During the meeting, Dr Drabu discussed the administrative, financial and legal modalities involved in regularisation of casual labourers working in different departments of the State government.

The Finance Minister asked the officers to look into extent of problems relating to casual workers and the financial, legal and administrative bottlenecks that may arise in the process of regularisation of such workers.

Dr Drabu said the State government is committed to regularise the services of casual, adhoc and other employees who have been hired from time to time by different governments.

“A comprehensive policy is being worked out by the State Government which will address the concerns and grievances of all causal, adhoc and other employees working with the State Government,” Dr Drabu said.

The Finance Minister said the State Government is going to put a stop on the menace of adhoc employment in future. He said all orders related to the hiring process and regularisation will be declared null and void once the regularisation process of all such existing engagements is completed.

The meeting was also attended by Financial Commissioner, Navin Choudhary, Commissioner Secretary, Labour and Employment, Kifayat Rizvi, Commissioner Secretary GAD, Khursheed Shah, Law Secretary, Abdul Majid Bhat, Director Codes, Mohammad Rafiq Andrabi and Labour Commissioner, Abdul Rashid among officers of the other allied departments
