Langate Sports wins Kupwara’s maiden day-night football championship

Kupwara: The maiden day night football championship in Kupwara culminated with Langate Sports clutching the title after beating Lalpora 11 by 2-0.

The tournament was organised by Kupwara sports foundation and 32 teams participated in the tournament played at boys higher secondary school ground kupwara.

While Lalpora 11 made its way into final defeating Khushal Sports Sopore, Langate Sports went into finals after defeating Subroto in a shootout.

Thousands of people turned up to witness the matchs through out the tournament, and as per organisers, tickets in thousands were sold, and about 100 volunteers made possible that the tournament is conducted hassle free.

Among the spectators who watched the final unfold were Member Of Parliament Fayaz Ahmad Mir, SSP Kupwara Shamsheer Hussain, Principal  Boys Higher Secondary Iqbal Wani, DYSP Headquarters  Fayaz Geelani, senior footballer players, senior citizens

Member of Parliament Fayaz Ahmad Mir donated Lighting system to be installed within 1 month, fencing for the ground and 1 Room in Hr Sec School for Kupwara Sports Foundation.
