Srinagar: Authorities Monday imposed restrictions in parts of city, in view of the call for shutdown by Kashmir Trader and Manufacturers Federation and Kashmir Economic Alliance over National Investigation Agency summoning its leader Yasin Khan to New Delhi.
The traders have said that issuing summons to business leaders was nothing but “an agenda of government of India to crush our fragile economy.”
“For past over three years we have been constantly apprehending that attempts were being made to crush Kashmir economy. The NIA summon has only vindicated our worst fears that this probe is aimed at crushing Kashmir’s economy through arm twisting tactics,” they said.
Reports said that all most all shops, private offices and other business establishments are closed throughout the day due to the shutdown and restrictions within the jurisdiction of five police stations in Downtown Srinagar.

Skeletal public and private transport was seen plying on all the major roads and highways across the Valley.
Railway authorities also suspended train service between Banihal and Baramulla as “precautionary measure.”
Supporting the strike called by Kashmir Inc, the joint resistance camp accused New Delhi of using the NIA as “war weapon” against innocent Kashmir.
“Government of India through NIA has started an unjustified campaign against people from all walks of life and on one pretext or other, they are being unnecessarily being harassed,” said the resistance camp comprising Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Yasin Malik.
