Delhi: YC Modi a senior IPS officer will be the new National Investigation Agency (NIA) Director General.
Modi was a part of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing infamous Gujarat riots case, which later cleared Narendra Modi in the Gulbarg Society massacre case.
He remained part of SIT till July 2012.
The decision was taken on Monday by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet following a Home Ministry proposal.
