Srinagar: Authorities have announced to continue restrictions in parts of Srinagar’s Old City on third consecutive day on Sunday.
According to the District Magistrate Srinagar, restrictions under Section 144 of CrPC, banning assembly of five or more persons, will remain in force under the jurisdictions of six police Police Stations including Nowhatta, M R Gunj, Rainawari, Khanyar, Safakadal, and Maisuma “as a precautionary measure to avoid any untoward incident.” The Joint Resistance Camp comprising Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Mohammad Yasin Malik has called for a shudwon in Kashmir Valley against the visit of Indian Home Minister Rajnath Singh.
