J&K erupts in support of Rohingya Muslims

Srinagar: Rallies were organised across the state on Friday over the plight of Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar. Six policemen, including two officers, were injured after one such rally led to clashes between government forces and protestors.

In Srinagar a peaceful rally in support of Rohingya Muslisms was organised by Jammu and Kashmir Liberation front.

In Kangan area of  District Ganderbal students held a silent sit.

The protest demonstrations were reported from Khankah-e-Faiz Panah Tral and Khankah-e-Maula Pampore.

In Anantnag, protesters clashes with police and paramilitary forces during protests against the Myanmar government. Six policemen sustained injuries during the clashes in Lal Chowk area.

Demonstrations against the government of Myanmar were also held in Banihal, Khari, Gool and Batote area of Ramban district, organised by Traders Federation Banihal.

Protests were held in Jammu also and in Bhadarwah, Doda and Kishtwar districts.
