Pakistan and OIC condemn the ‘persecution of Rohingya Muslims’ in Mayanmar

Calling to end the ‘systematic’ and ‘organised’ violence against Muslim minority residents of the Rakhine in Myanmar, Pakistan said it is ‘deeply anguished’ over the plight of Rohingya Muslims.

Media reports quoted Pak Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif saying that Pakistan feels “deep anguish at the ongoing violence against the Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar.”

 

Almost 90,000 Rohingya have fled to Bangladesh in the past 10 days following an uptick in fighting between militants and Myanmar’s military in strife-torn western Rakhine state.

 

Rohingya Muslims, forced to live under apartheid-like restrictions on movement and citizenship.

Meanwhile Independent Human Rights Commission (IPHRC) of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) also condemned ‘human rights violations against Rohingya Muslims in Rakhine state, Myanmar.’
