Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir High Court on Friday quashed detention order against two detainees and ordered their release.
Disposing of separate petitions, a single bench of Justice Sanjeev Kumar also dismissed a plea filed by a detainee, challenging his detention under the PSA.
Hearing plea, the court quashed PSA order (no.06/DMB/PSA/2017) of April 10, passed by District Magistrate Baramulla, against Ghulam Nabi Gojri son of Ghulam Rasool Gojri of Jamia Qadeem Sopore.
The court ordered Gojri’s immediate release forthwith, provided he is not required in any other case.
The court also quashed PSA order (no.90/DMS/PSA/2017) March 3 this year, passed by District Magistrate Shopian, to detain Ishfaq Ahmad Dar son of Ghulam Qadir Dar of Wandina Melhura Zainapora.
It directed Dar’s release forthwith, provided he was not required in any other case.
The court also dismissed a petition filed by Maqsood Ahmad Khan alias Maqsood son of Mohammad Younus Khan of Mohara Uri at present Bagi Islam, District Baramulla. He had challenged order (No.DMB/ARA/PSA/256) of February 6 passed by District Magistrate, Baramulla.
