Srinagar: United Jihad Council, an amalgam of various militant organizations, on Thursday urged people to observe the ensuing Eid-ul-Azha with austerity and urged them take care of “victims of state terrorism.”
“People of Jammu and Kashmir shall celebrate Eid with austerity. Taking care of the victims of state terrorism is our collective responsibility,” UJC’s Secretary General and chief of Tehreek Mujahidin Sheikh Jameel-ur-Rehman said in an emailed statement to INS. He also urged people to remember destitute, orphans, widows and downtrodden people in Eid celebrations.
He also accused New Delhi of a policy of genocide towards people of the Jammu and Kashmir and said that people of the state are united against it along with “Government of India’s anti-people policies.”
“Professors, writers, doctors, lawyers, traders and people from all other walks of life want to get rid of clutches of slavery and we are proud of our new generation which is brave, selfless, kind, and resolved. They are not ready to accept slavery,” he said, adding, “Our Eid is Eid of slavery and god willing, our sacrifices will bear fruits.”
