Two persons were arrested and liquor was recovered from their possession on Tuesday, police said.

“A naka was laid at T. Chowk Banihal. During checking of vehicles one vehicle bearing no jk 22 1278 was put to thorough checking,” police said.

During checking 36 Sacks of Desi whiskey 250 ml, One bottle of Royal Imperal blue, Kingfisher Beer 7 bottles 500ml, were recovered from their possession, said police.

According to police driver and owner of the vehicle identified as Zahid Nabi Ganie s/o Ghulam nabi Ganie R/o Lassi pura pulwama and Irfan Ahmed Bodha s/o Nazir  Ahmed r/o shirpura distt Anannag were arrested.

“In this regard case FIR under Excise Act stands registered,” police said.
