Expresses concern over Hajin youth’s mysterious killing, condoles death of 7 family members in accident
Srinagar: Chairman of Hurriyat Conference (G) Syed Ali Geelani on Tuesday hailed commitment and dedication of political prisoners lodged in and outside the state.
In a statement, the octogenarian leader said that Jammu and Kashmir’s resistance movement was based on “principles and supported by strong historical evidences.”
“We as a nation are striving for right to self-determination as guaranteed by global community. Instead of heeding to our genuine demand, the Indian authorities are caging leadership, activists and strangulating our genuine voices,” said Geelani.
He applauded the commitment and dedication of “pro-freedom prisoners” languishing in different jails including Shabir Ahmed Shah, Masarat Alam Bhat, Syeda Aasiya Andrabi , Dr Mohammad Shafi Shariati, Dr. Muhammad Qasim Faktoo, Ghulam Qadir Bhat, Dr. Ghulam Mohammad Bhat, Ghulam Mohammad Khan Sopori, Altaf Ahmad Shah, Pir Saif Ullah, Ayaz Akbar, , Maulana Sarjan Barkati, Raja Meraj-u-Din Kalwal ,Shahid ul-Islam, Farooq Ahmad Dar, Amir Hamza Shah, Mohammad Yousuf Falahi, Mir Hafeez Ullah, Ab Gani Bhat, Raies Ahmad Mir, Mohammad Yousuf Lone, Mohammad Rafiq Ganai, Abdul Ahad Para, Hakim Showkat, Mohammad Ramzan, Haji Mohammad Rustam Bhat, Shakeel Ahmad Yatoo, Mohammad Shaban Wani, Mohammad Shaban Khan, Mufti Abdul Ahad, Javed Ahmed Flay, Nasir Abdullah, Mohammad Amin, Ahangar, Nazir Ahmed Mantoo, Bashir Ahmad Wani, Abdul Majeed Lone, Ghulam Hassan Shah, Abdul Hameed Peer, Ali Mohd Dar. “That they are icons and assets for ongoing freedom movement in state,” he said.
Geelani also expressed serious concern about mysterious killing of youth, Muzafar Ahmad Parray of Hajin and said that life and dignity of every civilian was at stake. “We strongly condemn these killings,” said Geelani and extended his condolences with grieved gamily. “We stand with them in this hour of grief.”
He also expressed his deep sorrow over the death of seven members of a family and prayed for forbearance to the bereaved family to bear the irreparable loss and eternal peace to the departed souls.
