Clashes broke out in Vijpara Hajin of Bandipora district during Cordon and Search operation launched by Government forces in the area on Monday.

While government forces put up a cordon in the village protestors clashed with forces.

Forces had to use tear gas canisters after protestors began throwing stones.

According to sources the CASO is a joint operation of Army’s 13 RR unit, SOG of Jammu and Kashmir police and CRPF.

The operation in the area was launched after inputs about presence of militants in the area, sources added.
