Qazigund: Residents of Shampora Qazigund in Devsar on Friday held protest against PHE Department against water shortage in the area.

Protestors blocked the Srinagar-Jammu Highway at Shampora Qazigund.

Women joined protests by holding empty pots saying, “they are facing tremendous hardship without drinking water.”

The protestors alleged that PHE Department has turned deaf ear to the problem of non-availability of water.

“We are facing water scarcity from past one year and no one from the PHE Department has come to redress the problem till date,” protesting women told INS.

Senior police officers rushed to the spot and assured that they will raise the issue with authorities.
