Srinagar: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir on Wednesday suspended Chief Enforcement officer Srinagar Municipal Corporation and Ward officer Hari singh high street.

The duo, Mudasir banday, CEO SMC and Ward officer H.S high street were suspended by Div Com Baseer Ahmad Khan.

According to sources, the duo were suspended over ‘callous and lackadaisical approach towards de congestion of various city locations.”

“Under courts directives vendors are to be removed from the roads to decongest the city however officers were suspended for not standing up to job,” sources said.

Sources also said that Div Com took serious note of the officers not performing their duties under the directives of the court.

Div Com confirmed to INS that the duo have been put under suspension.

“More measures will be taken to implement the court directives in letter and spirit,” Div Com told INS.
