Srinagar:  Former external affairs minister of India Yashwant Sinha-led Track II team, presently on ‘Peace Mission 3.0’ to Kashmir Valley, met Mehbooba Mufti on Friday evening.
The delegation apprised the Chief Minister about the series of meetings they had with various sections of society, an official spokesman said.
They also informed her about their impressions of the situation in the State and its steady improvement, the spokesman said.
“The Chief Minister appreciated the efforts of the group in reaching out to the people of the State while underscoring the need for continuous engagement between people and societies.”
She said civil society has contributed immensely in present day world in reducing frictions and acrimonies between societies and resolving issues among people.
Earlier in the day, the team also comprising Executive Director, Centre for Dialogue and Reconciliation (CDR), Sushobha Barve, Air Vice Marshal (Retd), Kapil Kak and senior journalist, Bharat Bhushan, met state’s governor N N Vohra.
Sinha and his delegation have already met National Conference President Farooq Abdullah and Working President and former chief minister Omar Abdullah in Srinagar.
This is third time when Sinha-led team has embarked on Mission Kashmir. Last year at the height of unrest, the team visited Valley and met separatist leaders including chairmen of parallel factions of   Hurriyat Conference Syed Ali Shah Geelani and Mirwaiz Umar Farooq who had earlier slammed doors on the All Party Delegation (APD) members when they tried to call on them during the unrest following the killing of Hizb commander Burhan Wani.
