Srinagar Accusing government of callous approach and playing with their families casual and seasonal employees engaged department of Irrigation and Flood Control (I&FC) held a protest demonstration on Thursday here.

“From last three year we are without a salary. Our families are sufferings, we are not able to repay our bank loans,” Farooq Ahmad Khan president casual and seasonal employees association told INS.

Protesting employees claimed that they have time and again talked to higher authorities but to no avail.

“When we protested before chief engineer I&FC today he told us to talk to Minister of Irrigation Sham Lal Sharma. We went to his office but he threatened us of dire consequences,” Khan added.

Protestors claimed that they were promised permanent jobs but to the contrary not only has “government failed to keep the promise but are not paying us a single penny against our services”.

According to Khan there are around 4000 employees which are without salary.

The employees threatened to launch a state wide stir if their demands are not met.
“We will hold sate wide protests and demonstrations if our earned salary is not released as soon as possible,” he said.
