Srinagar: Couple of days ahead of the I-Day, two policemen were injured in a militant attacked in Bandipora district of north Kashmir on Sunday.
Official sources said that a joint team of army’s 11 Rashtriya Rifles and police had launched a cordon-and-search operation at Wahabpora Hajin in the district early on Sunday.
Some militants fired upon join team from outside the cordoned area, resulting in injuries to two policemen who were shifted to hospital from treatment, they said.
Soon, reinforcement of army and police were rushed in the area and when this report was filed, the searches were going on in the area.
