Addressing a hurriedly called press conference here Er Rasheed said that while watching television last night he was shocked to find a television channel, claiming to be number one, accusing that Er Rasheed has raised huge properties. He said that though the Indian television channels stand already discredited in Kashmir however it was hard to imagine that these so called journalists will stoop so low.

Er Rasheed said that his life is an open book where nothing is hidden from the masses following him. He detailed the property jointly owned by his family and said that and body interested can get the details verified and probed by the agencies from state crime branch to NIA. He said” maybe I will myself approach crime branch with the request to investigate and probe my prosperity so that it becomes an example and paves a way for the investigation into the huge properties of police officers, bureaucrats and main stream political leaders”. He said that Indian agencies should spare some time, from maligning those speaking truth, and investigate those who have raised huge properties from Karnah to Dubai and UK to Switzerland.

Er Rasheed revealed details of his income from all sources including that got through the salary of his family and of his own. He said that in addition to this income he and his brother have raised bank loan to the tune of almost sixty lakh rupees. He provided the bank account numbers and said that anybody is free to investigate into the claims. While detailing his properties Er Rasheed said that he has a small house in Jammu built of 5 Marla’s of land which was purchased even before he becoming the MLA in 1996.He said that he has a single story house built on 10 Marla’s of land in Srinagar and added “though I am not answerable to any accuser but for my people I solemnly state it keeping almighty as witness if I own any secret/benami property anywhere”.

Accusing Indian state of maligning the Kashmiri leadership Er Rasheed said “Govt. of India is trying to malign those Kashmiri leaders who speak truth but let it be clearer to India that she cannot achieve anything by such tactics. India has not succeeded to stop Kashmiris from demanding right to self-determination and neither will succeed in future  by resorting to any kind of pressure on the leadership”.. He reiterated that since Kashmiris have decided to achieve right to self-determination so they are ready to face any kind of accusations, torture or suppression at the hands of Govt. of India and its agencies. “Let Govt. of India, its agencies and its media do whatever they wish but it should be clear to India that it has to attend to the demands to right to self-determination of Kashmiris sooner or later. He seconded the allegations of resistance leadership that the NIA was being used as a tool against those Kashmiri leaders who refuse to succumb to the pressure and continue to pursue the goal of right to self-determination”. He further said that Kashmiri people have very easily understood how New Delhi is hell bent upon framing, humiliating and torturing their leadership just to stop it from the demand of plebiscite for which Kashmiri nation has been sacrificing.
