Srinagar: Stating that the situation in Kashmir is limping back to normalcy, Director General of Police (DGP) S P Vaid on Friday said that the presence of Al-Qaeda, ‘a jihadist organization’ in Kashmir would be investigated.
“Militant is militant. A person who has picked up arms is militant for us while the outfit he belongs to doesn’t matter,” DGP said while reacting over a query regarding the Al-Qaeda’s announcement over establishment of its unit in Jammu and Kashmir, naming former Hizbul Mujahideen militant Zakir Musa as its chief in the state.
According to KNS correspondent, addressing a presser here at Police Lake View Golf Course, DGP said that the situation in Kashmir is slowly limping back to normalcy.
Meanwhile, DGP said that the department is organizing state level Marathon-2017 on Sunday.
The Marathon will be organized at Police Lake View Golf Course under the civic Action programme of Jammu and Kashmir Police.
He said that the prize distribution function will be held at 10:30 am.
DGP told reporters that such kind of events will help police to curb the stone pelting incidents in Kashmir. (KNS)
