Srinagar: The Kashmir Committee formed by the Congress recently held its second meeting at Delhi which was chaired by Dr Manmohan Singh.
The Committee was set up by Sonia Gandhi for resolution of Kashmir issue.
The Congress leaders who participated in the meeting included P Chidambaram, Dr. Karan Singh, Ghulam Nabi Azad, Ambika Soni, Tariq Hamid Karra, CLP Leader Nawang Rigzin Jora and HO Congress President G A Mir.
The committee said that resolution of Kashmir issue through dialogue is imperative for peace and prosperity of the Jammu and Kashmir state.
“Gun is not the solution. Dialogue with all stake holders is the only way to resolve the issue. Kashmir issue cannot be resolved through military means,” the committee said.
The Committee said that BJP instead of easing the tension and problems of the people has increased alienation of people during its rule.
“Our endeavour is to talk to all stake holders for resolution of the issue,” a senior member of the Committee told KNS.
The committee was formed after efforts of Karra at a time when BJP is insisting on stringent policy on Kashmir. (KNS)
