Azad expresses regret at devastation caused by Doda cloudburst

Srinagar: Ghulam Nabi Azad, senior Congress leader and leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha has expressed deep sorrow and grief on the devastation caused by heavy rains and cloudburst in Thathri town of Doda district of Jammu & Kashmir which has resulted in death of six people and injuring dozens of civilians besides huge damage of several houses and shops.
“My heart goes with the members of the families who have lost their kith and kins in the devastation and sympathize with the injured people” said Azad in a statement to KNS.
Azad has urged the State Government of J&K and the District Administration to immediately arrange for relief and rehabilitation measures for the people of Thathri who have suffered on account of destruction caused due to cloudburst and to provide adequate compensation to the families of those who have lost their lives and to those injured in the tragedy.
He further said that road which is life line for Distt. Kishtwar and Sub-District Gundoh passes through Thathri Town should be immediately cleared for traffic. (KNS)
