Srinagar: Terming the July 13, 1931 as the milestone in Kashmir’s freedom struggle, the incarcerated chairman of Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) Shabir Ahmad Shah on Monday said the pro-India parties have no association with the mission of the martyrs of this day.
In a statement issued to KNS, Shah said the July 13 martyrs didn’t sacrifice their lives for seeking power but for the honour and dignity of their nation.
“The pro-India parties/politicians have right to pay tributes to July 13, 1931 martyrs,” Shah said and appealed people to visit the Mazar-e-Shuhada (martyrs’ graveyard) to pay tributes to them.
Shah said the political future of the J&K is yet to be decided and “till the people of this state are not given their birth right of self-determination, the mission of July 13 martyrs will remain unaccomplished”.
The DFP chairman said those enjoying power cannot be the heirs of July 13martyrs as these politicians made a sell-out of the dreams of these martyrs with Delhi just for their petty material gains.
“The observing of martyrs’ week is aimed at reconfirming our pledge of taking forward the mission of martyrs till it reaches its logical conclusion,” he said.
Shah said those who have caged us and are killing our people in order in please their master in Delhi have no right to visit the martyrs’ graveyard and pay floral tributes to them. He said the mission of July 13 martyrs is yet to be accomplished.
Shah said the July 13 martyrs sacrificed their lives by rising against the autocratic regime and set an example for the nation to resist the tyranny and brutality of all kinds. “These martyrs rose against the Dogra regime and soon after achieving freedom, India occupied the state on 27 October, 1947.”
Shah said THE SLAIN Hizb commander, Burhan Wani followed the mission of July 13, 1931 martyrs and sacrificed his life. He appealed people to visit the Mazar-e-Shuhada (martyrs’ graveyard) to pay tributes to all the martyrs of Jammu Kashmir.
