Dr Farooq, Omar Abdullah grieved over Mehmood-ur-Rehman’s demise

Srinagar: National Conference President, Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Working President Omar Abdullah Sunday expressed profound grief and sorrow over the demise of Senior Civil Servant (IAS) of J&K Cadre, Former Additional Chief Secretary of J&K and Former Vice Chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University Mehmood-ur-Rehman.
Mehmood-ur-Rehman passed away in Lucknow on Saturday.
Expressing shock and grief over Rehman’s demise, Dr. Farooq Abdullah paid glowing tributes to the departed soul and highlighted his exemplary contributions in serving the people of the State in various important capacities. Lauding Rehman as an exemplary and pro-people officer, Dr. Farooq Abdullah extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and especially to Rehman’s father-in-law and Veteran Civil Servant of the State S.A.S. Qadri. Dr. Farooq Abdullah also extended his condolences to Rehman’s son, Monis-ur-Rehman.
In his condolence message, National Conference Working President Omar Abdullah highlighted Mehmood-ur-Rehman’s extraordinary service in the State and said he would be remembered as an honest, dedicated and visionary officer for ages to come.
Omar Abdullah extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for peace to the departed soul.
Senior National Conference Leaders including NC General Secretary Ali Muhammad Sagar, Additional General Secretary Dr. Sheikh Mustafa Kamal, Provincial President Nasir Aslam Wani, Abdul Rahim Rather, Muhammad Shafi Uri, Sharif-ud-din Shariq, Chaudhary Muhammad Ramzan, Muhammad Akbar Lone, State Spokesperson Junaid Mattu besides party legislators and senior office bearers have paid glowing tributes to Late Mehmood-ur-Rehman and expressed grief and sorrow over his demise.
