Srinagar: Condemning the prolonged incarceration of ailing Dukhtaran Millat chief Syeda Asiya Andrabi and her associate Fahmeeda Sofi, Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), Muhammad Yasin Malik Tuesday said that a lady who is suffering from multiple ailments was not only arrested and booked under black law PSA but to inflict more harm to her was shifted to Jammu jail where she is languishing from last many months and facing hardships.
In a statement issued to KNS, Malik said that this ‘cruel and anti-women attitude’ is being demonstrated by a lady ruler who during her opposition days , to hoodwink public opinion, used to shed crocodile tears on the corpses of the martyrs and stage protest ‘dramas’ against arrests, killings and other acts of ‘oppression’ unleashed against people of Kashmir.
Malik according to a spokesman said that “Kashmir has been turned into a killing field and a big jail where killings with impunity continue unabated and thousands are languishing in jails and police stations. These acts of cruelty and oppression are glaring examples of the deceitful politics of PDP led rule and prolonged incarceration of ailing Asiya Andrabi and Fahmeeda Sofi is adding to the ugliness of their anti-Muslim and anti-women toil.”
Appealing international human rights groups to take note of this oppression, JKLF Chief said that international community needs to fulfil its duty vis-a-vis Kashmir and Kashmiris and try to save the lives and dignity of Kashmiris and also secure the release of all political prisoners from the jails of Jammu Kashmir and India.
