BJP has failed to rise above party interest in JK: Congress

Srinagar: Congress Monday said that the BJP government has failed to rise above party lines to govern the Jammu and Kashmir state in alliance with PDP.
“BJP has not come above its party line and propaganda in Jammu and Kashmir while ruling the state in alliance with PDP. This has resulted in worsening security situation in the state,” Senior Congress leader and former Railways minister, Pawan Kumar Bansal said.
As per KNS correspondent, Bansal said that because of the BJP’s party interests, tourism, economy and education has deteriorated in the state.
Bansal said that security situation in the country has worsened and citizens are feeling insecure to live after the BJP government took over in the country.
“Security, both internally and externally, has worsened. An atmosphere of insecurity has been created where citizens feel threatened. Vigilantes have been let loose which are attempting to decide dress and eating choices of people, Bansal said, while addressing a press conference at Pamposh hotel here.
“The chief ministers and leaders of BJP are giving statements which have created fear psychosis among the people in the country,” he said.
The press conference was a part of series of media interaction programs started by Congress to counter the BJP programmes launched by the party on its three completion of the government.
Bansal was flanked by JKPCC president, G A Mir, legislators Usman Majeed, Haji Abdul Rashid, senior leader and MLC G N Monga, Muzaffar Parray and Irfan Naqeeb.
Bansal said three years of BJP government has been a misrule and propaganda.
“The indices of development and economy portray a very dismal picture of ND rule. The GoI has launched a barrage of programmes on its completion of three year rule, but the picture is contrary to what it claims in these programmes,” he said.
“GDP has gone down to 7.1 % in the last three years. Gross value Added has decreased from 10.7% to 3.8 %. NDA has said that it will create 2 crore jobs, but figures and data are opposite to their claims. Bank credit has decreased and it has happened for the first time in the last 63 years. Demonetization has not made them able to bring the money back. Instead it has increased the affected labourers and dailywagers,” he said.
He said that RSS people have been employed to head education and Research institutes.
“The institutions have been hit as BJP has cut funding to the educational and research institutions. There is no accountability in governance. Title of schemes launched by UPA has been changed to suit BJP’s propaganda. BJP is misleading the people across the country,” he said.
“It will take BJP five years to inaugurate schemes and projects launched by UPA in 10 years,” he said. (KNS)
