Majlis-e-Quran Khawani held at Jamia Masjid

Srinagar: On the occasion of 13th martyrdom anniversary of Shaheed-e-Masjid Molvi Mushtaq Ahmed, the prominent leader of Awami Action Committee (AAC) and the member of Mirwaiz family, a majlis-e-Quran Khawani was held in the historic Jamia Masjid Srinagar for Esaal-e-Sawab of Moulana Mushtaq and all the martyrs of Jammu & Kashmir. The Chairman APHC Mirwaiz Umar Farooq also participated in Quran Khwani.
On the occasion, while paying rich tributes to the shaheed -e- Masjid the speakers recalled his remarkable political and reformative contribution in the society.
While terming Shaheed Molvi Mushtaq as a noble and gentle soul, who always worked for the welfare of the people especially the down trodden, the participants of the program took a pledge to take the mission of shaheed -e- Masjid and other martyrs ahead with full conviction and dedication.
On the occasion, the speakers termed the present situation in Kashmir very sensitive and stated that to muzzle the people’s struggle; all efforts were being made by the rulers on political and military fronts using coercion and suppression to crush their legitimate struggle. They said oppression is touching new heights, while as arrest spree and use of force on innocent people continues unabated
The speakers said that until the issue of Kashmir is resolved by implementing UN resolutions or through tripartite talks between India, Pakistan and the people of Kashmir, peace in the sub-continent and entire south Asia will remain a distant dream. The participants also paid rich tributes to Martyred student Adil Farooq, who was killed by forces during cordon and search operation at Shopian district of South Kashmir. The participants also expressed solidarity with the family members of slain youth. (KNS)
