Srinagar: National Investigation Agency (NIA) sleuths Sunday continued its raids on the residential house as of separatists and businessmen in Srinagar.
NIA officials said that many more locations were raided today in Kashmir, Haryana and Delhi on the traders and separatists.
“In continuation of yesterday’s searches at multiple locations in Kashmir, Delhi and Haryana, the NIA took up fresh searches today at five more locations belonging to secessionist and separatist elements and traders suspected of hawala activities and Terror Funding in J & K. Searches were conducted at four places in Kashmir and one place in Jammu,” NIA spokesperson said.
“During the course of searches, Pakistani currency(a few thousand) and currencies belonging to the UAE and Saudi Arabia have been found and seized apart from other incriminating material. The concerned persons are being questioned about the same,” the spokesperson said.
NIA had on Saturday raided 22 locations in Kashmir, Delhi and other places following a ‘sting’ on three separatist about alleged funding by Pakistan for subversive activities in Kashmir.
NIA team had raided residential houses of several pro-freedom leaders and a businessman and claimed seizure of cash and other “incriminating material” during the raids.
The NIA team had aided the residence of Altaf Ahmad Shah alias Altaf Fantoosh, son-in-law of Syed Ali Geelani, businessman Zahoor Watali, Hurriyat (M) media advisor Shahid-ul-Islam, and a few other pro-freedom leaders belonging to both factions of the Hurriyat Conference and the JKLF.
Pertinently, three separatists ncluding Chairman Jammu and Kashmir National Front (JKNF) Nayeem Ahmad Khan, Farooq Ahmad Dar alias Bitta Karrate and Javed Ahmed Baba alias ‘Gazi’ of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat led by Syed Ali Geelani, were questioned by NIA sleuths in New Delhi for three days for their role in 2016 unrest and alleged funding from Pakistan for creating unrest in Kashmir.
