Handwara: Condemning NIA raids on pro-resistance leaders and few prominent businessmen, AIP Supremo and MLA Langate Er Rasheed has said that all such moves are aimed at making Kashmiris to shut their mouth and surrender their rights, however New Delhi needs to learn that whatsoever is happening in Kashmir is not creation of any individual, organization or some agency but every Kashmiri realizes the significance of resolving Kashmir dispute and would never compromise their sentiments and aspirations.
While interacting with people in Handwara today Er Rasheed said, “New Delhi seems to have used all options against the mass resistance in Kashmir but after failing to break the will of Kashmiris it has started a character assassination campaign against pro-resistance leadership but should not forget that Hurriyat leaders are not being respected and supported for their personal profiles but only because they are representing the sentiments and sacrifices of people.”
Er Rasheed added that if NIA is really interested in bringing out the facts in J&K, then it must investigate hundreds of custodial killings, blinding Kashmiri children, forced labour to which residents of border and remote areas were subjected, huge assets created by a section of mainstream politicians, policemen and bureaucrats and fake encounters.
He said, “defaming Kashmiris, indulging in their character assassination and fabricating false stories against Hurriyat leaders and other citizens is just to break the self-respect of Kashmiris but New Delhi must know that the ongoing mass resistance is not because of the individuals and every single Kashmiri will continue one way or the other to force New Delhi for agreeing to right to self-determination.”(GNS)
