SRINAGAR: Pardeep Singh, Advisor Infrastructure Development to the State Govt, accompanied by Gurmeet Rai, Conservation Architect and Vice-President International Council of Monuments and Sites ( ICOMOS India) ; Ms. Sushma Iyengar, Advisor, National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA); Ms. Durga Venkatswamy, Textile Expert; Sh. Tufail Mir, Advocate; Ms. Iram Mirza, Social Innovator and Sh.Verendra Wakhloo, Architect, met Governor N.N. Vohra at the Raj Bhavan here today.
Sh. Singh, and members of his team, had a useful exchange of views with the Governor about the challenges of infrastructure development, implementation of flagship Central Schemes which would include critical assessments of the longer time relevance/ utility of certain approaches, possible approaches towards stimulating infrastructural development in the State through Public Private Partnerships and evolving modalities for attracting private sector design, execution and operating efficiencies so as to strengthen and upgrade the existing infrastructure.
Governor suggested to Sh. Singh to consider an area wise holistic approach in regard to locational planning with particular attention being given to the fusion of local architectural concepts which harmonise with the topography, climatic patterns and other distinct local attributes while deciding locations and conceptualising infrastructure designs in various regions of the State.
