CM inaugurates football tourney for specially-abled children

Srinagar: Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti inaugurated the first ever football tournament for specially-abled children at Astro Turf, TRC Ground today.
Minister for Youth Services & Sports, Moulvi Imran Raza Ansari; Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar, Dr Farooq Ahmad Lone; Secretary, J&K Sports Council, Waheed-ur-Rehman Parra; officers, coaches and players were present on the occasion.
On the occasion, the Chief Minister went round the Astro turf and interacted with the players.
The Chief Minister said her Government has focused sports development as a priority area and efforts are being made to upgrade infrastructure and develop other amenities to provide better sports facilities to youth in the State.
Mehbooba Mufti said the talent and potential of the youth of the State has been proved time and again and it would be the endeavor of her Government to provide maximum opportunities to them to display their talent.
The Chief Minister also distributed sports kits among the players on the occasion.
Later, the Chief Minister visited the Polo Ground and inspected the improvement works there.
