Geelani condemns use of force against students

Srinagar: Syed Ali Geelani on Thursday strongly condemned the use of brute force against students and said that situations in educational situations is turning explosive.
In a statement issued to KNS, blaming police for manhandling students in Magam, Sopore, Pulwama, Handwara, Duru & Islamabad, Geelani said that students are our future and we are keeping a close vigil over changing development.
Terming the police action as vandalism and absolute barbaric, Geelani said that we will never tolerate this and won’t leave innocent students at the mercy of authorities. The direct and unprovoked interference form police is infuriating students, said he.
Geelani stressed for immediate release of detained students and demanded stringent action against erring police and forces personnel. (KNS)
