Srinagar: National Conference on Wednesday strongly condemned the killing of a young Lieutenant of the Army, Lt. Umar Fayaz Parray in Shopian and termed it as a barbaric and unacceptable act.
In a statement issued to KNS, NC State Spokesperson Junaid Mattu extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and expressed solidarity with them in their moment of loss and grief on behalf of the party.
“This is a barbaric and unacceptable incident and should be condemned unequivocally. Our heart goes out to the family of Lt. Umar Fayaz. The Government should probe the circumstances that led to this tragic killing. Violence is unacceptable and has pushed the State into grief and misery as the State Government’s failure to govern and the Central Government’s failure to engage has created a dangerous political vacuum in the State. The increase in the spate of targeted killings – be it of political activists, lawyers or even this latest tragedy – is a very alarming trend and goes on the prove how the situation in the State is going from bad to worse”, the NC Spokesperson said.
