Srinagar: In a mysterious incident of firing, at least two cops were wounded at a police post in Tanta area of Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir, reports said on Monday.
Reports said that the post, located in the mountainous Tanta area of the district, came under attack at 2 am, leaving two Special Police Officers (SPOs) seriously injured.
A police official said that it was not a militant attack while the investigation has been taken up to ascertain the fact..
“10-12 gun shots were heard from the STF Post Tanta. One of the injured SPOs has received a bullet in his neck and the other in his abdomen,” they said.
Both the injured SPOs are undergoing treatment at District Hospital Doda where from they would be airlifted to Jammu for specialized treatment.
The injured SPOs have been identified as Kikar Singh Belt number 1669/SPO and Muhammad Younis Belt number 1752/SPO. (CNS)
