Srinagar, Aug 09: Suspected militants on Sunday shot at and injured a BJP leader in central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
Official sources said the militants fired upon the leader identified as Abdul Hamid Najar (38) son of Mohammad Jamal Najar of Ompora near railway station when he was on a morning walk.
He suffered bullet injuries in abdomen and right leg, they said, adding, he has been shifted to SMHS hospital for treatment. Recently a number of BJP leaders and workers have been targeted and at least four of them were killed.
