Srinagar, Feb 22: The journalistic fraternity in Kashmir is in deep mourning following the sad demise of Naseer Ahmad, a veteran journalist and former Bureau Chief of Zee News in Kashmir. His passing has left a profound void, with journalists—both young and old—bidding him a tearful farewell. A large gathering of colleagues, friends, and admirers participated in his last rites, remembering him as a man of integrity, kindness, and unwavering support for his peers.

Naseer Ahmad was not just a journalist but a mentor who stood by aspiring reporters, guiding them in their early careers. His contributions extended beyond individual mentorship, as he played a key role in launching KNT, a news agency.

Feroz Ahmad, one of his senior employees, expressed deep grief over his passing. “I still can’t believe that Naseer Sir is no longer with us. He was more than a mentor—he was a guiding force for many of us,” he said, recalling his invaluable support.

Naseer Ahmad was also a fearless journalist who exposed many untold stories from Kashmir. Notably, he was among the first to highlight the issue of unknown graves during the tumultuous years of militancy, bringing to light a subject that remained shrouded in secrecy. His courage in reporting sensitive issues earned him both respect and recognition.
