Amit Kumar promoted to IG, NIA

New Delhi, Jan 15: Amit Kumar, IPS (AGMUT: 2006), has been promoted to the rank of Inspector General (IG) in the National Investigation Agency (NIA), as per the official approval conveyed by the Ministry of Home Affairs.

According to an official order, issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, GOI, the undersigned is directed to refer to NIA’s ID No. E-133/01/Prom/IPS Officers/NIA/2023/113 dated 02.01.2025 on the subject mentioned above and to convey approval of the competent authority to the proposal of NIA for promotion of Shri Amit Kumar, IPS(AGMUT:2006), DIG, NIA to the rank of Inspector General, National Investigation Agency from the date of joining the post.

After the assumption of charge of the post of IG, the tenure of the officer may be fixed under the provision of para 5.1 (ii) of IPS Tenure Policy. The date of assumption of charge of the post by the officer may be intimated to this Ministry, it reads.
