Gulmarg warmer than Sgr, Jammu records lowest minimum temperature since 2017

Srinagar, Jan 14: The mercury has improved at multiple places, but Srinagar has once again recorded a dip in the night temperature as against 0.2 °C on previous night, it shivered at minus 4.2°C on Sunday.

Independent Weather Forecaster, Faizan Keng while sharing the details with INS, said that Srinagar, the summer capital of J&K had recorded a low of minus 4.2°C.

Nonetheless, Gulmarg, a famous ski-resort was 3°C warmer than Srinagar. The mercury at Gulmarg settled at minus 1.2°C.

Pahalgam was the coldest place at minus 5.5°C.

Moreover, he informed that at 2.5°C, Jammu City records the lowest temperature in January since 2017.

“Today’s minimum temperature is 4.5°C below the usual temperature at this time of the year. On 24 January 2016, Jammu City recorded a minimum temperature of 0.5°C which is also the all-time lowest temperature recorded in the City,” he added.
