Fresh snowfall in Kashmir parts, rains lash plains

Srinagar, Oct 16: Several parts of Kashmir on Monday received a fresh snowfall while rains lashed plains, bringing down the mercury in the Valley.

A local MeT department has predicted intermittent rain and snowfall over higher reaches at scattered places of Jammu and Kashmir.

“Light to moderate rain, snow over higher reaches very likely at scattered places of J&K,” MeT department said.

On October 17, light rain, snowfall over higher reaches would likely occur at scattered places.

The MeT officials said that the weather would improve from October 18 onwards.

In it’s Advisroy, the MeT department asked the farmers to postpone harvesting of crops till 17th.

The fresh spell of rains and snow would also temporarily disrupt transportation especially at vulnerable places like Zojila, Mugal Road, Sinthantop, Sadnatop etc.
