Condolence meeting held to mourn demise of Al-Haj Nazir Ahmad Zargar; INS management express sympathy

Srinagar: National Conference President Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Working President Omar Abdullah on Monday termed growing escalation in Indo-Pak hostility as unfortunate.
In a joint statement issued here, Farooq and Omar, both former chief ministers, said that leaders of both the countries seem to be in no mood in initiating any concrete steps to end the escalations.
Expressed grief and sorrow over the loss of precious lives due to firing along LoC in Poonch, they said that firing and shelling was unproductive for all.
“The firing only results in loss of previous lives of those living in the border areas and ads to their hardships and miseries,” they said.
Referring to the plight of people living along the LoC and borders, the two leaders said that tall claims by both centre and state leadership have no impact on ground situation.
‘Neither government of India is taking any steps to prevent firing and shelling along the LoC and borders nor is state government doing anything to shift people living in close vicinity of LOC and border to safer destinations,” they said.
