J&K Reports 704 Covid-19 Cases, 1 Death

Srinagar, July 31: Jammu and Kashmir reported 704 fresh covid-19 cases even as one person succumbed to the virus during the last 24 hours, officials said on Sunday.

They said that 210 cases were reported from Jammu division and 494 from Kashmir Valley, taking the overall tally to 464062. Among the cases, 171197 are from Jammu division and 292865 from Kashmir Valley.

Providing district wise details of the cases, they said, Jammu reported 124 cases, Udhampur 10, Rajouri 10, Doda 14, Kathua 8, Samba 2, Kishtwar 22, Poonch 9, Ramban 9, Reasi 2, Srinagar 205, Baramulla 131, Budgam 41, Pulwama 0, Kupwara 42, Anantnag 37, Bandipora 24, Ganderbal 7, Kulgam 7 and Shopian 0.

One death was reported from Jammu division, taking the overall death toll due to the pathogen to 4771.

Among those who succumbed to the virus since the outbreak of the pandemic, 2342 were from Jammu division and 2429 from The Valley.

Besides, they said, 555 Covid-19 patients recovered during the last 24 hours—229 from Jammu division and 326 from Kashmir Valley. There are now 4859 active cases— 1788 in Jammu and 3071 in Kashmir.

The officials said there was no new confirmed case of mucormycosis (black fungus) reported today. So far 51 black fungus cases have been confirmed in J&K, the officials said. They also informed that 1281 doses of covid-19 vaccine were administered during the time in J&K.
